Edward Karpman MDDr. Edward Karpman is a board certified urologist and one of the few urologists who is also fellowship trained in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Microsurgery and Male Sexual Dysfunction. He is the medical director of the Men’s Health Center at El Camino Hospital Los Gatos and the California Vasectomy and Reversal Center.

He grew up in Southern California and attended college at the University of California, Davis where he graduated with Honors in Biological Sciences. He went on to medical school at the University of Vermont where he was awarded the James Demeules surgical research award and scored in the top 5% of all medical school graduates in the nation on his medical board exams. He completed his urologic surgery training at the University of California, Davis Medical Center where he received several awards for his research and publication. Dr. Karpman was then awarded a prestigious fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. There he specialized in Male Infertility, Microsurgery and Male Sexual Dysfunction.

Dr Karpman has authored numerous articles on the subjects of urology, sexual dysfunction and male infertility. He has authored the chapter on sperm retrieval techniques in the definitive textbook on male infertility. He has been interviewed by NBC news, Fox radio, NPR, Parents magazine and Bay Area Parent magazine. He has presented research in the fields of male fertility, microsurgery and penile implants at national meetings. He serves as a proctor for laser surgery of the prostate, penile implants and male incontinence procedures, teaching other physicians to perform these operations. He is involved in the development of new technologies for the treatment of prostate enlargement. Dr. Karpman has been an invited lecturer on the subjects of testosterone replacement, male sexual dysfunction and male infertility.
